Artwork

Welcome to the FootballFlags.co.uk artwork page. When ordering your Football Flag or any other product the artwork is one of the most important things to get right. Sending Artwork in the correct format and with no errors speeds up the whole process. If you have chosen to design online using our integrated design software the following information will not be relevant. However if you want to send your own artwork or have artwork from your designer, feel free to use the following information to help you through this important process.

Recommended file formats

.AI

.ai stands for Adobe Illustrator and is the native file type for the Adobe Illustrator software. It is used for representing a single page vector based drawing.

.EPS

.eps stands for Encapsulated PostScript. An EPS file can contain text as well as graphics and can be saved from many programs including Illustrator, Coral Draw, InDesign and many more.

.CDR

.cdr is a file extension for a vector graphics file used by Corel Draw, a popular graphics design program. It's mainly used for vector drawings but also supports image files.

.PSD

.psd stands for "Photoshop Document" and is a layered image file saved from Adobe Photoshop. It's main use is to design using images rather than vectors.

things to do before sending your artwork

Convert your text

If you design using a font we don't have on our system when it comes to opening your file our end this may default to Arial. To prevent this please select all the text and convert it to outlines/curves.

Check the scale

Before you start the process of designing check that your artboard is the correct size. You can design at any size you want but it must be to scale. Most products have templates available so please check the product page.

Check the quality

The most common problem when we are sent artwork is image quality. Ideally you should design your artwork as a vector file. Any image files should be checked for quality. We aren't able to increase the quality of a pixilated image.

Check the colours

We like most digital printers print using CMYK ink. This is CYAN, MAGENTA, YELLOW & BLACK. Make sure your colours are in this mode (NOT RGB) and any important colours are set as a Pantone colour.
